Anyone following the controversy, the biased campaign, the accusations, stories, and false narratives surrounding the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and directed against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would find the situation astonishing.
Much of what has been circulated is based on assumption, speculation, conjecture, and imagination, without presenting a single piece of evidence linking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the alleged disappearance of its citizen, Jamal Khashoggi, in the sisterly Republic of Turkey.
These allegations were promoted by hostile media outlets, including Qatari media, as well as by a Turkish journalist writing on Omani affairs who claimed to be Jamal Khashoggi’s fiancée, while Jamal’s family denied knowing the woman or having any relationship with her.
To those behind the promotion and escalation of this campaign against the Kingdom, I say:
“Produce your proof, if you are truthful.”
If you have no clear material evidence or proof, then it would be more appropriate to refrain from making accusations and spreading false allegations against a country known to the world for its concern for the security, safety, and wellbeing of its citizens above all other considerations.
Assassinations and kidnappings are neither part of the Kingdom’s nature nor its approach. Rather, such practices belong to others whose records and histories are marked by them.
Finally, regarding those who act with bias, envy, or hostility toward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership, I recall the words of the poet:
“Reduce your criticism of them — or fill the place that they have filled.”
And the words of another poet:
“One day, a ram struck a rock with its horn hoping to weaken it;
the rock remained unharmed, while the rugged horn was broken.”
